Acerca de U.K. Subs
U.K. Subs, along with equally fiery old-school stalwarts such as The Exploited and Abrasive Wheels, came to define the hard-edged Punk sound which emerged from Britain in the late '70s and early '80s. The Subs took Punk's fury and rage and injected even more angst and anger, loading their guitars with rounds of bristly ire and filling their drumming with yet more explosive adrenaline and amphetamine-fueled energy, while lead singer Charlie Harper coated his vocals in razor-sharp dustings of ground glass. Their anthemic songs, which have enough soccer-chant-like choruses to keep Oi! listeners content with their three-minute, alcohol-soaked style, are precisely the kind of fist-in-the-air sonic attacks that made Punk rock so pleasingly scary.
