The elder states-perv of industrial sleaze limits his tenth studio album to just 10 songs, all clocking in between 3:59 and 4:49 except the initially space-floating, eventually wah-wah-flaunting, seemingly gun-toting and fairly meandering 7:59 “Saturnalia.” Opener “Revelation #12” bangs Atari Teenage Riot digital hardcore-style, and other first-half tracks incorporate dub parts reminiscent of even older industrialists KMFDM. The spare, sickly-whispered “Sat10” (pronounced “Satan”) goes the blasphemy route, disco-funked “Kill4Me” and noise-messed “Je$u$ Cri$i$” shuffle sex and violence, and both “Blood Honey” (rhymes with Mudhoney!) and the title track discuss being upside down. By the end, Marilyn’s baritone could almost pass for Billy Idol’s.
