"Everytime You Cry" and "All the Love" were hits from The Outfield's 1985 debut, but it's the infinitely cheesy twofer "Say It Isn't So" and "Your Love" that ensured the British three-piece will forever be included on nearly every '80s comp for as long as folks want to relive the splashed paint and blow-dried hair of that decade. Guitars with the barest hint of echo, upper-register vocals deeply influenced by AOR high priests Steve Perry and Dennis DeYoung, and 10,000 overdubs during the chorus are the hallmarks of The Outfield's sound. Best heard while making out in a Fiero.
